The cause of death was certified by Andrew Brown, physician, who saw the deceased on 11^th March 1855. He was interred in the Burial Ground of Strathaven, as certified by Andrew McLuckie, Sexton. The informant on 20^th March 1855 at Strathaven was Gavin Wilson, the deceased’s son.

Robert Wilson was recalled as a farmer (deceased) when his son, also Robert Wilson, married Christina McColl in 1859 and again when Robert junior died in 1885.
