Janet Wilson MS Brown, widow of Robert Wilson, died on 21st
December 1855 at 11h 40m am, at Parkhead, Kype, Avondale. The cause of death was certified by
Andrew Brown, physician, who saw the deceased on 20th December 1855, as catarrh, from which she had been
suffering for four weeks. The informant on 25th December 1855 at Strathaven was the deceased’s son, Gavin
Wilson.
On the evidence of her 1855 death certificate, Janet Brown was born c. 1790 at Symington Mains, Parish of Symington,
Lanarkshire, and at the time of her death had been 35 years in Avondale.
