Sir,
I hereby acknowledge that
a payment has been made to me
this day, as Administrator in law
for Roger, Elizabeth-Ann, & Isabella-
Catharine Aitken my children,
of the fum of Fourteen pounds five
shillings sterling as the amount
of a legacy of Five pounds
sterling bequeathed to each of
them by your sister in law the
late Mrs. Lindsay, after deducing (sic)
an average proportion of a de-
ficiency in the funds realized;
and I oblige myself to grant
to you a regular discharge for
the same as required by law
when you shall call upon me
for that purpose. I am
