On the 1856 marriage certificate of her daughter Mary Cochran, she was
identified as Jane Cochran MS Crawford.
Jean Cochran, married to Thomas Cochran, weaver, died on 13th
December 1868 at 3h 45m, at Manse Close, Dalry. Her age was entered as 74. The causes of death
were certified as abdominal tumors, from which the deceased had been suffering for eight weeks, and bed sores, from
which she had been suffering for four weeks. The informant on the 15th at Dalry was
Thomas Cochrane, the deceased’s son.
On the combined evidence of the 1851 census and her 1868 death certificate, Jean Crawford was born c. 1794 at
Dalry, Ayrshire.
