On the 1856 marriage certificate of her daughter Mary Cochran, she was identified as Jane Cochran MS Crawford.

Jean Cochran, married to Thomas Cochran, weaver, died on 13^th December 1868 at 3^h 45^m, at Manse Close, Dalry. Her age was entered as 74. The causes of death were certified as abdominal tumors, from which the deceased had been suffering for eight weeks, and bed sores, from which she had been suffering for four weeks. The informant on the 15^th at Dalry was Thomas Cochrane, the deceased’s son.
