On the evidence of her 1907 death certificate, Susan Moran was born c. 1826.

In connection with the birth of her daughter Helen Kyle in 1852, Susan’s maiden name was rendered as ‘Morren’.

When her daughter Ellen or Helen married John McColl in 1878, Susan was entered as Susan Kyle MS Moran.

Susan Kyle, widow of Archibald Kyle, died on 28^th February 1907 at 11^h 45^m pm, at Ballgreen, Strathaven. Her age was entered as 81. The causes of death were certified as strangulated inguinal hernia, from which she had been suffering for seven days, and cardiac failure, two days. The informant on 1^st March at Strathaven was the deceased’s son, James Kyle, of 45, Corsewall Street, Coatbridge.
