Ian William McIntyre |
15th August 1915 - c. 1943 |
Ian was the informant on his father’s death certificate, recorded at Glasgow on 14th May 1938. He never
married.
Ian died as a result of active service during World War II and this tragedy had a devastating effect on the family.
It is evident from Stanley’s letter that Ian was still alive during the
autumn of 1943. It also appears to be implied that he was recovering from war wounds at this time. Stan’s exact
words were:
Ian William McIntyre was born on 15th August 1915 at 3h 30m pm, at 199, Calder
Street. The informant was the child’s mother, Mary McIntyre, on 4th
September 1915 at Glasgow.
I am pleased to hear that Ian is much better, although I suppose he has had a pretty rough time of it.
