Ian William McIntyre was born on 15^th August 1915 at 3^h 30^m pm, at 199, Calder Street. The informant was the child’s mother, Mary McIntyre, on 4^th September 1915 at Glasgow.

Ian was the informant on his father’s death certificate, recorded at Glasgow on 14^th May 1938. He never married.

Ian died as a result of active service during World War II and this tragedy had a devastating effect on the family. It is evident from Stanley’s letter that Ian was still alive during the autumn of 1943. It also appears to be implied that he was recovering from war wounds at this time. Stan’s exact words were:

I am pleased to hear that Ian is much better, although I suppose he has had a pretty rough time of it.
