Helen Robb was born on 19th September 1858 at one in the morning, at Fairhill, Parish of Hamilton. The informant on the 24th at Hamilton was the child’s father, Alexander Robb, entered as present.

When Helen Robb married John King in 1885, she was a spinster, aged 26, usually resident at 27, Burnbank Road, Hamilton.

Alexander Robb married Margaret Watson on 7th June 1856 at Allanshaw, Parish of Hamilton; ‘Marriage (after Banns) was solemnised between us according to the Forms of the U. P. church of Scotland’. The Register was signed H. H. Battersby, Minister U. P. Church, and by witnesses Allan Robb and William Robb.

Alexander was entered as 30, usually resident at Fairhill, Parish of Hamilton. He was a cattle dealer, bachelor.

Margaret was entered as 26, usually resident at Allanshaw, Parish of Hamilton, spinster.

When their daughter, Helen, was born in 1858, her parents were entered as Alexander Robb, cattle dealer, and Margaret Robb MS Watson.

Alexander Robb, cattle dealer, and Margaret Robb MS Watson were apparently both still living when Helen married John King in 1885.
