Edward Arthur Boyd McIntyre

Edward Arthur Boyd McIntyre was born on 22nd September 1928 at 1h 30m pm, at 199, Calder Street, Glasgow. The informant was the child’s father, William McIntyre, who was entered as present. He was familiarly known as Ted (or, on occasion, Eddie or even Teddy).

Edward Arthur Boyd McIntyre, solicitor’s clerk (bachelor), aged 27, of 92, Camphill Avenue, Glasgow, married Mary Rodger Stewart, school-teacher (spinster), aged 27, of 22, Mace Road, Glasgow, on 2nd December 1955 after Publication in the Office of the Registrar for the District of Partick, Glasgow, and in the presence of the Registrar in accordance with the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1939.

Mary’s parents were entered as John Stewart, Iron Dresser (deceased), and Margaret Stewart MS Kennedy.

The Register was signed by George Lemmon, Registrar, and by witnesses James Spence, 22, Holmbank Avenue, Glasgow, and Kathleen Ann Macfarlane, 29, Inglefield Street, Glasgow.

Ted was the informant on the death certificate of his mother, Mary McIntyre MS Boyd, recorded on 23rd July 1970.

He lived with his family in Glasgow for many years. In contrast to his elder brothers, Ian, Stanley, Norman and Donald, he had a shy personality and showed no inclination to travel.

Edward Arthur Boyd McIntyre died on 22nd September 2006, aged 77, at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow.
