Sir Adam de Gordon |

According to the Pedigree of the Gordon Family, from about 1050, Sir Adam de Gordon of Huntly was a son of Sir John
de Gordon and Elizabeth, a daughter of Cruikshank of Aswanly. Sir Adam married ‘Elizabeth Keith, dr. of Sir William
Keith, Great Marischal’. He was killed at the battle of Homildon, 1402.

Sir Adam and Elizabeth had a daughter, Elizabeth de Gordon, who married:
Alexander Seton, a son of Sir William of Seton, styled Dominus de Gordon ; at Harlaw, 1411 ; in wars with France, 1421 ; died 1437.

Alexander and Elizabeth’s other children were William, Henry and Elizabeth.
Alexander de Seton, Lord of Gordon, was thrice married; firstly to ‘Jean, dr. and heiress of Robt. de Keith ; no issue’; secondly to ‘Egidia, dr. of Sir John Hay of Tullibody ; issue, a son, ancestor of Setons of Touch’; thirdly to ‘Elizabeth, dr. of William Lord Crichton’.

Alexander de Seton, Lord of Gordon’s marriage to Elizabeth Crichton produced three sons and three daughters. These were:
1. George... 2nd Earl of Huntly, ancestor of the Earls of Huntly, Dukes of Gordons (sic), and many families of the name Gordon.
George married:
1st. Annabella, dr. of King James I, by whom he had 4 sons and 6 daughters.

2nd. Lady Elizabeth Hay, dr. of 1st Earl of Errol, without issue.
2. Sir Alex. Gordon of Midmar, ancestor of the Gordons of Abergeldie.
3. Adam, Dean of Caithness. His issue were - 1. William, Chancellor of Dunkeld. 2. George of Beldorney. 3. John of Drummoy. 4. Elizabeth, wife of Alexander Ogilvy of Findlater and Deskford.
4. Lady Janet, mo. to James Dunbar, Earl of Moray, vide Dougl. and Wood’s Peer. ; but md. to James Innes of Innes, vide Charter sealed at Gicht, 1469, “The Family of Innes” - and had issue.
5. Lady Elizabeth, md. 1st to 2nd Earl of Errol ; 2nd to John, 2nd Lord Kennedy, by whom had issue.
6. Lady Christian, md. William, 3rd Lord Forbes.
