At the time of the 1841 census, Alison Waddell, 15, was living in the family home at Woodend, in the Parish of
Torpichen, Linlithgowshire.
Alison was named as beneficiary in her father’s 1853 Disposition and Settlement, at which time she was unmarried and
residing in the family home.
At the time of the 1881 census, Alison, unmarried, 57, housekeeper, was living in the household of her brother,
James Waddell, at Woodcockdale Farm, Linlithgow.
In 1891, Alison, unmarried, 68, retired dairymaid, was living with her brother,
John Waddell, at Wester Loanfoot, in Civil Parish of Falkirk, Quoad
Sacra Parish of Camelon.
Alison Waddell died on 21th January 1896 at 4h 30m, at Loanfoot, Parish of
Falkirk. Her age was entered as 72. The cause of death was certified as apoplexy, from which she had been suffering
for three months. The informant on the same day at Falkirk was the deceased’s brother-in-law, John Ferguson.
Alison Waddell, second known daughter of James Waddell and
Marion Chalmers, was born in Torpichen, Linlithgowshire, c. 1823.
