By the time of her marriage to William Newall on 5th November 1824,
Margaret was residing in Monkton & Prestwick Parish.
In 1851, Margaret was living with her husband William Newall and their children in Main Street, Newton-on-Ayr. She
was a sewer aged 46.
Margaret was widowed in 1873 and died the following year. Margaret Newall, widow of William Newall, fisherman, died
on 17th October 1874 at 3h 15m pm, at 29, Richard Street, Glasgow. Her age was
entered as 73. The cause of death was certified as ‘obstruction of bowels’. The informant was Margaret’s daughter,
Fanny Dinning, of 4, Warroch Street, who signed with her X mark.
On the evidence of the 1851 census, Margaret Edgar was born c. 1804 at Glasgow. Her death certificate is indicative
of an earlier date, c. 1801.
