Janet McCabe |
Dates unknown |
Her first name was omitted from the 1881 death certificate of her son Thomas
Dinning. Only her maiden and married surnames together with the fact that she was deceased by that time were
recorded. This reinforces the impression that she had died a long time previously and that no one then living could
remember her.
From the evidence of Bernard’s 1855 death certificate, which indicates that the eldest child from his second
marriage was then aged 20, it may be inferred that Janet had been dead at least since the first half of the 1830s.
She was almost certainly Irish.
Janet McCabe is identified as the first wife of Bernard Dinning.
